Basic Wind Generator Electricity: One way to get a rough understanding of electricity is to compare it to a garden hose that is used to transmit and accurately place water where it is needed. The water hose is like an electrical wire, Voltage is like the water pressure that forces an amount of water, Amperage, through the hose.

Voltage = an ammount of electrical pressure pushing electrons through a wire or conductor.

Amperage = the amount of electrons or electricity, measured in Amps, passing through a conductor.  A Milliamp = 1/1000 of an Amp

Watt = is a measurement of work 1 volt x 1 amp = 1 watt.  Kilowatts = 1000 watts

Kilowatt-Hours = the amount of 1000 Watt units of power used in an hour. This is the measurement that the Electric Utility Companies use to charge their customers.

Alternating Current (AC) = This is an electrical current that rapidly and continually changes direction within a conductor. Househouse electricity (in the USA) is AC and changes its direction 120 times per second. This is often expessed as 60 cycles per second. One of the advantages of AC is that it is more efficiently transmitted over long distances as compared to DC Direct Current.

Direct Current (DC) = This type of electrical current moves through a conductor in one direction only. Windmill generators and Solar panels produce this kind of of electricity which is usually stored in a battery bank then converted to AC current before it enters a home.

Grid and off-grid: The grid is the system of electrical transmission lines that the power company uses to deliver electricity to your house. Off-grid is an expression that often refers a home that is not connected to the Electrical Power Company's Power Lines. Earth4Energy

AC Inverter: this electrical device converts the DC Current stored in the wind generators battery bank to the kind of AC Current that many home appliances require.

It is very specific with lots of helpful and easy to understand diagrams and photos, (with only a few exceptions). The information is very specific and yet allows for adjustment if the parts you obtain vary from the author’s example.
